Injuries

It is very dangerous to drive with a dog in the back of a pickup truck.  Not only can flying debris cause serious injury, but a dog may be unintentionally thrown into traffic if the driver hits the brakes, swerves, or is hit by another car.  Dogs should ride in the cab using a crate or a doggie seatbelt harness designed especially for dogs.

Both people and pets spend more time outside during the warmer summer months and because of this, the chances of your pet getting bitten by another increase dramatically.  Pets also escape from the back garden, or a utility worker or visitor may inadvertently leave a gate open.  Make sure your pet is always wearing a collar and identification tag.  It is recommended that both outdoor cats and dogs are micro-chipped, many pets have been reunited using this system. (for more information about microchips, contact our office at 633-7123).
